Julia Hayter is devoted to the well-being of her community, and she has been fighting for it since the day she arrived at the legislature.
Before being elected as the MLA for Calgary-Edgemont, Julia worked as an Education Assistant, volunteered with not-for-profits supporting people with disabilities, and served as Chair and Vice-Chair of her children's school council.
She knows what Calgary families need because she is raising three school-age children in northwest Calgary herself.
As Shadow Minister for the Status of Women, Julia has been a persistent voice for women's equity, pushing back on UCP cuts to front-line services and fighting for the supports families depend on. She believes every Albertan deserves well-funded public schools, accessible health care, and a strong, diversified economy.
Julia Hayter is ready. Alberta's New Democrats are ready.

Calgary-Edgemont is in the North West quadrant of Calgary and consists of the neighbourhoods of Dalhousie, Edgemont, Ranchlands, Hawkwood, and Hamptons.
Calgary Edgemont is bordered by Crowchild Trail to the south, Nose Hill Drive, Country Hills Boulevard, and Sarcee Trail to the west, Stoney Trail to the north, and Shaganappi Trail to the east. It includes the Dalhousie LRT station and parts of John Laurie Boulevard.
